“I feel I really came alive in this workshop format much more so than in the cocktails-after-a-speech format. We got beyond the small talk to what really matters. ” – David Crocombe, Project manager, inventor at the NSW Manufacturing Council Forum on Design and Manufacuring.
“You’ve done in six hours what we have been struggling to do in two years. ” Maggie McFee Manager, Youth Connections, Central Coast
Good facilitation can be a catalyst for change and learning. It might seem invisible, but usually involves careful design and skill. It enables people to stay on task, access energy, and tackle problems collaboratively.
The heart of facilitation is the capacity to manage conversations that:
- test assumptions
- allow new ideas to surface, address new needs or needs not easily articulated
- put unlikely things together and see new connections and patterns
- provoke and stimulate new ideas
- tolerate and respect uncertainty and anxiety before an authentic solution emerges
- harness different skills and personalities, encourage robust dialogue
We specialise in group and team processes, using a wide repertoire of tools to encourage dialogue and creative interaction.
We also teach facilitation in a range of professional contexts, including as consultant trainers at the University of Technology, Sydney.
